8 December, 2021, 12:30pm – 8 December, 2021, 1:30pm
@ WebinarThis free, one hour webinar for managers, supervisors, team leaders and employees is delivered by our ‘In Work Support’ (IWS) Service and forms part of a wider programme of wellbeing support for (employed and self-employed) individuals and small-to- medium-sized businesses across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend.
During the Covid-19 crisis, we are delivering a series of free webinars, offering specific guidance to employers on how to support staff in these most challenging of times and tips and tools for employees on looking after their mental and physical wellbeing.
Employers have a crucial role to play in suicide prevention. People in work spend about one-third of their lives at their place of employment. Colleagues and line managers can provide an important social and emotional support network, built on shared experiences. Employers are in a unique position to help colleagues understand the importance of wellbeing and good mental health, and the knowledge of how to keep safe and well and how to spot the signs of being unwell.
Workplace strategies that can help to prevent suicide include:
• Creating a work environment that fosters communication, respect and a sense of belonging and connectedness
• Identifying risk-factors and supporting employees who may be at risk of suicide
• Signposting to relevant local and national helplines and support
• Suicide awareness and prevention training
• Having a plan for responding to a suicide attempt or death
Following completion of your free registration, you will receive an email detailing the joining instructions for this Microsoft Teams event.
